Malik Johnson, a.k.a. "99TheProducer” is a classically trained cellist, composer, and music producer based in Milwaukee, WI. Malik’s Grammy-nominated work as a cellist and producer includes contributions to Kirk Franklin’s Grammy Award-winning album Long Live Love and Masego’s Studying Abroad: Extended Stay, showcasing his ability to bridge traditional and modern musical worlds.

In 2024, Malik had the honor of performing alongside the legendary Stevie Wonder as part of the Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nations Broken Heart tour. Malik’s career highlights include performances with the Matt Jones Orchestra, which led to an opportunity to play with PJ Morton on NPR’s Tiny Desk in 2017, as well as contributions to John Legends Grammy- nominated Christmas album in 2018. A multi-instrumentalist, Malik is not only an outstanding cellist, but also a self taught guitarist and formally trained pianist.

Since 2021, Malik has been passionately teaching music to youth across Southeastern Wisconsin, working with students in elementary, middle, and high schools to help them discover the transformative power of music. Alongside his teaching, he continues to produce for various artists, blending his classical training with modern sounds to create music that inspires and connects with audiences of all ages.
